Merge Salesforce Contacts with Stripe Customers

Use MergeStudio to combine exported Salesforce contact data with Stripe customer data for reporting, account review or enrichment. The tool works with the files you export and does not connect directly to either service.

Recommended setup

Candidate keys
  • Email address
  • Stripe customer ID stored in Salesforce
  • Another external ID deliberately shared across both exports
Merge mode

Master + Enrich keeps every Salesforce contact and appends Stripe fields only where the key matches.

Matching rules

Start with equivalent-number and extra-space normalization enabled. Keep Ignore all spaces off unless you intentionally need aggressive matching.

How to combine the exports

  1. Export the Salesforce contacts and Stripe customer data needed for the analysis.
  2. Add both files to MergeStudio and confirm the data sheets and header rows.
  3. Choose Master + Enrich, then map email or a stronger external identifier between the files.
  4. Review live match reach, duplicate warnings and output columns before downloading the workbook.
Salesforce account records and Salesforce contact records are different levels. Match like with like; a person-level email should not be used to join an account-level table without a deliberate relationship.

Common problems

Billing contacts differ

The billing email in Stripe may not be the same contact stored in Salesforce.

Account vs contact

Choose a key that represents the same entity level in both exports.

External IDs are stronger

When available, a synchronized external ID is usually safer than a person or company name.

🔒
Normal jobs stay in your browser.

Spreadsheet contents are processed locally for normal jobs. Oversized jobs are stopped rather than silently uploaded.
