- Shared order or transaction reference if present
- Customer email
- Stripe customer ID when it has been stored in the Shopify-side export
Merge Shopify Orders with Stripe Payments
Join Shopify order exports with Stripe payment or customer exports using a shared reference, customer email, or stored Stripe customer ID. Use MergeStudio when you already have exports from both systems and need to reconcile ecommerce orders with payment data, payment status, customer information, or transaction references.
Recommended MergeStudio setup
The safest merge starts with a key that means the same thing in both exports. Header names can differ; the values need to identify the same record.
Master + Enrich
Keep every Shopify order and append payment information when a dependable key is available.
Start with Match equivalent numbers ON, Normalize extra spaces ON, and Ignore all spaces OFF. Review the live match reach before continuing; use strict settings when formatting differences are meaningful.
Example key mapping
This is an example, not a required header name. Choose the columns in your own files that represent the same identifier.
How to merge the files
- Export the data you need from Shopify orders and Stripe export. MergeStudio does not connect to those services directly; you work with the Excel or CSV files you export.
- Add both files to MergeStudio and select the worksheet tabs that contain the real data. If a file begins with report titles or notes, set the correct Header row before continuing.
- Choose Master + Enrich. Keep every Shopify order and append payment information when a dependable key is available.
- Choose the matching column in each file, add up to five fields if the same record needs a compound key, review Matching Rules and the live match reach, then select the output columns.
Common problems to check before you export
Do not assume a Shopify order number equals a Stripe payment ID.
One customer can have many orders and many payments, so customer email alone may create many-to-many matches.
Use an order-level reference whenever your workflow exposes one in both files.
MergeStudio parses and merges normal Excel and CSV jobs in your browser. If a job exceeds the local safety limits, it is stopped rather than silently uploaded.
